Day 1: GUWAHATI (ASSAM), GATEWAY TO THE NORTHEAST
Welcome to the gateway to the Northeast and the largest and most cosmopolitan city in the region. Extending along the south bank of the mighty Brahmaputra, couched between the picturesque hills of the eastern flanks of the Himalayan mountain range, Guwahati is the gateway to the seven other northeastern states. You will be greeted & assisted by our representative at Guwahati airport and later transferred to your hotel to check in. Later Visit the Shiva temple of Umananda, stands on an island in the middle of the Brahmaputra. It can only be reached by motorboats and public ferries from Umananda Ghat. Remaining time is at leisure till next day. Meals: Welcome Dinner Included.
Day 2: GUWAHATI
This morning post healthy breakfast visit Sualkuchi village, the Silk Town. One can distinctly hear the rhythm of the shuttles of the looms as soon as one enters this craft village. After lunch visit the village of Dadara famous for Greater Adjutant Stork (Hargilla). With just a few hundred left in the world, two-thirds of the global population live in Assam. The local village women are known as Hargilla Army, who all are active conservationists. Nearly 300 women of the villages will sing hymns and weave scarves and other items on handlooms with motifs of the bird to create awareness about the need to protect the species. In the evening enjoy a river cruise on the mighty Brahmaputra to catch a glimpse of soothing sunset followed by dinner on the cruise. Meals: Breakfast & Dinner Included.
Day 3: SHILLONG (MEGHALAYA), SCOTLAND OF THE EAST
After healthy breakfast, drive to Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya. It is a historic hill station referred as ‘Scotland of the east’. On the way, halt at the scenic Umiam Lake. Enjoy boating in the pristine lake surrounded by beautiful pine forests of the Khasi hills. After arriving in Shillong visit Don Bosco museum. It provides a glimpse of the rich and multi-cultural lifestyles, history, and traditions of the indigenous peoples of North East India.
Note: The museum is closed on Sundays, Government, and local holidays.
Later explore the charming town and enjoy local sightseeing by visiting Lady Hydari Park, Ward’s Lake, old churches Shillong Peak and the majestic Elephant Falls nearby, the stones of the cascades resemble like large elephants. If time permits, witness Siat Khnam archery, which is a unique way of local gambling where Khasi men shoot arrows in a haystack. Meals: Breakfast Included.
Day 4: SHILLONG
After breakfast, drive to Mawphlang sacred grove. In Meghalaya sacred groves represent an age-old tradition of environmental conservation based on indigenous knowledge, culture, and religious beliefs. They are among the few least disturbed forest patches which are serving as the natural treasure house of biodiversity and a refuge for a large number of endangered animals and rare taxa. Spend your evening exploring the local surroundings. David Scott Trail Trekking (Optional) One of the most popular trekking routes in Meghalaya, David Scott Trail has been named after David Scott, a British officer. The officer discovered this route in the first half of the 1800s in the form of a mule track for travelling from Assam to Bangladesh. The present trail route is separated into smaller trekking routes and the trail between Mawphlang and Lad Mawphlang, is the most famous one. This route expands up to 16 km and can be covered in 4 hours. The whole trek is blessed with mesmerizing natural wonders such as cascading waterfalls, crystal clear streams gushing down from mountains, typical Khasi villages, scenic valleys, forests groves and expansive meadows. Day 5: CHERRAPUNJEE (MEGHALAYA)
After an early breakfast leave for Cherrapunjee, the wettest destination in the world. En-route to Cherrapunjee, you will come across roaring waterfalls diving into unfathomable gorges. Upon arrival, check into a hotel. Freshen up and then explore the beautiful waterfalls and caves, which are the main attractions of Cherrapunjee. Visit Nohkalikai Falls, one of the taller and most dramatic waterfalls. It makes a dramatic free leap from a well-forested drainage into a rocky base accompanied by a pretty blue pool. Later walk through the stalagmites of the intriguing Arwah caves, a relatively new discovery in Cherrapunjee. It nestles some million-year old fossils, mainly of mollusks and insects. There is constant stream of water running through the cave. Meals: Breakfast Included.
Day 6: CHERRAPUNJEE (MEGHALAYA)
Day 6 of your tour is optional day. Either you can choose to spend your day relaxing and exploring local handicraft markets and try some local cuisine or spend the day trekking to the double decker living root bridge and rainbow falls. The Double Decker Living Root Bridge in Nongriat village is accessible only by trek. It is a 3 km challenging hike which includes around 3500 odd concrete steps one way. The trek to the Rainbow Falls starts from Double Decker Bridge and it will take 1 to 2 hours to complete the trek. One needs to wear comfortable shoes, and carry enough snacks, water and medicine while trekking to Rainbow Falls. DOUBLE DECKER LIVING ROOT BRIDGE In the deep dense tropical forests of Meghalaya lie some of the most astonishing man-made natural wonders of the world. The Double Decker Living Root Bridge created by the members of the Khasi tribe. It takes around 15 to 20 years to build one such bridge. It continues to grow stronger with time. These bridges are made from the aerial roots of a rubber fig tree and supported with bamboos and thin cables. The tangled webs of roots are straight out of a fantasy. Some of these bridges are over 100 feet long and can easily support the weight of more than 50 people at a time. The water body flowing below the bridge is so clear that one could see the fishes. Sit there for a while, dipping your feet in the water. RAINBOW WATERFALL The Stunning Rainbow Falls in Meghalaya Is Straight out of Paradise. Secluded deep within the forest, the falls got its name because one will see small rainbow near the waterfall due to sun rays. The waterfall drops down into the pool wearing the natural rainbow sashay with pride. The path to Rainbow Falls though defined is not cemented and is a mix of alternating ascents and descents. Day 7: MAWLYNNONG VILLAGE (MEGHALAYA)
Post breakfast at the hotel, you will leave for a full day tour of Mawlynnong village, which has been awarded as the ‘Cleanest Village in Asia’. Explore this beautiful village, interact with the friendly Khasi villagers and enjoy the panoramic view of Bangladesh plains below from the Skywalk. Farming of betel nut & leaves, broomsticks and pepper along with bee rearing are the primary economic activity of this Village. With the village headman himself taking the responsibility of making visitors comfortable, a day in this village gives an insight into the life of the Khasis. Just close to this scenic village, there are interesting sights like beautiful sight of boulder balancing on another rock and Living Root Bridge – Centuries old bridges grown from tangled roots. Later visit the Indo – Bangladesh border and Dawki river. Later in the evening leave for overnight stay in Shillong. Meals: Breakfast Included.
Day 8: KAZIRANGA (MEGHALAYA - ASSAM)
Post breakfast at the hotel, you will leave for Kaziranga, one of India's best kept national park and the homeland of the Great India one horned Rhinoceros". Though the drive is long, journey is very pleasant as there will be stop for lunch and few photo stops. En-route stop at Ranthali, jewel in the crown of Assam’s rich repertory of craft villages. Ranthali is home to skilled artisan families, the creators of most dazzling jewels – quite a reason to explore this small and unique hamlet! It is a place that lives and nurtures a legacy of artisanal skills and interesting history. After reaching Kaziranga by late afternoon check-in at resort. After freshening up you can go on a guided tour through the forest near your accommodation along the riverbank. You can also visit the tea garden and rubber plantation. Meals: Breakfast Included.
Day 9: KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK
Kaziranga, one of the gems of Indian wildlife conservation and home to 65% of the world’s population of ‘Rhinoceros unicorns’, the great one-horned Indian rhino. But Kaziranga is not all about rhinos, it has many other animals which visitor can witness either from Jeep or an elephant back.

Get up early for elephant safari into the forest. Our representative will take you to the elephant riding point by jeeps. Here we will be carried through the tall grass. Meanwhile the morning mists will slowly lift leading to an experience that one cannot forget easily. The elephant safari is the best mean for wildlife viewing as the wild animals are not afraid of the elephants and it is possible to observe them from very closely.
Return to the resort for breakfast. After breakfast, we will go for jeep safari in the national park for wildlife viewing in the central zone. Later return to the resort for unwinding and lunch. After lunch we will go on our second jeep safari of the day, this time we will visit the Western zone of the national park. It is common to see large herds of rhinos, elephants, deer, wild buffaloes besides having the opportunity to spot sloths, jungle cats, mongoose, and birds such as pelicans, parakeets, swamp partridge, bar-headed goose, whistling teal, the Bengal florican, storks, herons and eagles.
Return to the resort for overnight stay.

Day 10: BHALUKPONG (ARUNACHAL PRADESH)
After breakfast we will leave for Bhalukpong. This is the perfect place for wildlife enthusiasts, nature lovers, and even adventurers as it serves as an ideal destination for hikers, rafters, and anglers. Bhalukpong is a little town on the Kameng River and lies along the dense forests that form the border of the Pakhui Wildlife Sanctuary. On arrival, check into a hotel. In the evening visit Tipi Orchid Centre, one of Asia’s largest gardens of orchids that houses over 450 rare orchids out of 1000 found in India. Return to the hotel for overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast Included.
Day 11: DIRANG (ARUNACHAL PRADESH)
After breakfast drive to Dirang, a tiny town in the Kameng Valley. It is an ideal getaway with beautiful apple orchards and sheep breeding farms. The area is close to Bhutan and the Bhutanese influence is perceptible in the local Dzong fort. Visit this 150-year-old fort and some of the 500 years old stone houses around the fort. End the day with a visit to hot spring, which is considered to be a holy place. The hot spring is rich in sulfur content and is known to have great medicinal properties. There is a facility to have a bath in the hot spring which can have a magical effect on a journey-tired body. Meals: Breakfast Included.
Day 12: TAWANG (ARUNACHAL PRADESH)
This morning after elegant breakfast, Checkout from the hotel and drive to Tawang, a sacred and hidden Buddhist highland, where the essence of ancient Buddhist preaching, and spirituality have flourished since ages. The testimony to this stands the beautiful Tawang Monastery, a center for deep Tibetan learning. Drive through the scenic Himalayan landscape, halt on the way at the high altitude Sela pass at an altitude of 4000 m above the sea level, Jung waterfalls and Jaswant Garh War Memorial. Enjoying hot tea and snacks served at the army camps for travelers. Tawang is located at an altitude of 3500 m above the sea level and was at part of the Kingdom of Tibet during the medieval times. It was ruled by the local tribal rulers from time to time. Meals: Breakfast Included.
Day 13: TAWANG
Today explore the beauty of Tawang. We will visit the famous Tawang Monastery, which was founded by contemporary of the fifth Dalai Lama Mera Lama Lodre Gyaltso. At present it accommodates over 500 monks and houses priceless Buddhist texts and scriptures. After Tawang Monastery, we will proceed to Bum la Pass - At the Indo-China border, 15,200 ft. above the sea level. (Please Note: Visit to Bum la Pass depends on the permission from the Indian army and if roads are operational). Later we will proceed to Shungatser Lake followed by visit to Peng Teng Tso Lake, Tawang War Memorial - built in memory of the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives in Sino-Indian war and enjoy the Sound and Light Show. Meals: Breakfast Included.
Day 14: TAWANG – ZIMTHANG – TAWANG
Today we will start our day a little early for an excursion to Zemithang, an interesting scenic village of the Monpa tribe located near the tri-border with Tibet and Bhutan. Secluded in the frontiers of the Himalayas, this village is an example of traditional Monpa living where nature provides for the community. Visit the sky looming stupa which was constructed by Lama Prathar of Kharman village in 13th century AD. Spend the rest of the day exploring this scenic village and interacting with local people.
Day 15: BOMDILA (ARUNACHAL PRADESH)
After breakfast, proceed towards Bomdila, situated at an altitude of 8000 ft offers breathtaking views of landscape and snow-clad mountains of the Himalayan Range. Upon arrival, check into a hotel. Relax for some time and then we will visit the Buddhist monastery of Bomdila, which is the repository of culture and is among primary attractions of the place. Spend your evening exploring the local surroundings.
Day 16: NAMERI ECO CAMP (ARUNACHAL PRADESH)
Post breakfast we will procced towards Nameri Eco Camp. Enjoy the true experience of camping in the wild amid plush greenery and wildlife in eco-friendly tents and cottage accommodations which provides simple pleasure in life – emanating a healthy comfortable stay. In the evening you are free to visit the nearby Pygmy Hog Foundation and learn about the species. The Pygmy Hogs are one of the world’s most endangered mammals. Overnight stay in the camp. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included.
Day 17: NAMERI
This morning we will go on an exciting river rafting on Jia Bhoroli River. We will drive from the camp towards the river upstream and from there we will enjoy the downstream rafting on the inflatable raft. Here we will get a chance to see lots of migratory waterfowls and if you get lucky then can even spot the Royal Bengal Tigers and the Elephants on the banks of the river. After river rafting, return to the camp site for lunch. After lunch we will go on nature trek in the core area of Nameri National Park to see more of wildlife or you can also go for angling. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Included.
Day 18: GUWAHATI (ASSAM)
This Morning post appetizing checkout from your hotel and proceed to Guwahati. Board your flight and fly back with memories to cherish for life. Tour ends. Meals: Breakfast Included.
