One of the best ways to tour the city of dreams, Mumbai is through this 4-day private and fully escorted tour. This special tour brings together two of the biggest movies based in Mumbai - Slumdog Millionaire and Hotel Mumbai. The first part of the tour is based on the movie Hotel Mumbai, which depicts the real 26/11 terrorist attacks in Mumbai, and the second part is based on the movie Slumdog Millionaire.

The Hotel Mumbai part of the tour begins by checking into the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, the scene of the 26/11 attacks. The next stop is the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj terminus, which was another scene of the attack. The last stop on this part of the tour is the Leopold Cafe, which is a popular restaurant and bar on the Colaba Causeway.

The second part of the Slumdog Millionaire trip takes you to the Dharavi Slum, which is the biggest slum in Asia. The next stop is the Mumbai Manmad Pipeline where some of the scenes of the movie were shot.

There is also a tour of Bollywood, where you get to have a glimpse of Bollywood filmmaking. The visit ends at the famous area of Juhu and the Chowpatty beach.

Day 1: MUMBAI, THE OBEROI TRIDENT HOTEL

This movie based themed tour is divided into two parts – Slumdog Millionaire & Hotel Mumbai. The first part of the tour will be based upon the movie “Hotel Mumbai”. This film is based on the real 26/11 Mumbai terrorists’ attacks. The second part of the tour will be based upon the movie “Slumdog Millionaire”. In this part you will experience two extreme sides of Mumbai – the poverty of slum & glamour of Bollywood. You will be greeted & assisted by our representative at Mumbai international airport and later transferred to Hotel Oberoi Trident to check in. The Oberoi-Trident is the icon of luxury and opulence in Mumbai that came under the deadly saws of the 26/11 attacks. Stay overnight at Oberoi-Trident. Meals: Welcome Dinner Included.

Day 2: HOTEL MUMBAI

In the morning after breakfast, check out from The Oberoi Trident and check into the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel (Hotel Mumbai). TAJ MAHAL PALACE HOTEL The starting point of the sightseeing tour based on 23/11 Mumbai terrorist attacks will be your stay hotel “Taj Mahal Palace”. During the onslaught on the Taj Mumbai, 31 people died and 28 were hurt. Its guests were overwhelmed by its employees’ dedication to duty, their desire to protect guests without regard to personal safety, and their quick thinking. Restaurant and banquet staff rushed people to safe locations such as kitchens and basements. Telephone operators stayed at their posts, alerting guests to lock doors and not step out. Kitchen staff formed human shields to protect guests during evacuation attempts. As many as 11 Taj Mumbai employees—a third of the hotel’s casualties—laid down their lives while helping between 1,200 and 1,500 guests escape. CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI MAHARAJ TERMINUS Next stop of this tour will be Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. The attack at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus began around 21:30 when the two men entered the passenger hall and opened fire using AK-47 rifles. The attackers killed 58 people and injured 104 others, their assault ending at about 22:45. NARIMAN / CHABAD HOUSE Visit Nariman House, a Chabad Lubavitch Jewish centre in Colaba known as the Mumbai Chabad House, was taken over by two attackers and several residents were held hostage. LEOPOLD CAFÉ Later procced to Leopold Café, a popular restaurant and bar on Colaba Causeway in South Mumbai, was one of the first sites to be attacked. Approximately 10 people are killed in an attack which lasts 10-15 minutes. Meals: Breakfast Included.

Day 3: SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE

Start your day with a tempting breakfast at your hotel and be ready for Slum and Bollywood tours. Today we will take you to slum, Bollywood and all the places in Mumbai where Slumdog Millionaire was filmed in Mumbai. SLUM TOUR Your day will start with the tour of Dharavi Slum. Which is considered "Asia's largest slum". You will go for a long walk in the company of a guide who will have lot of stories to share with. Experience a wide range of activities such as recycling, pottery-making, embroidery, soap-making, and leather tanning. The delicious aroma from tiny bakeries and sweet shops, the exotic smell of soaps and cosmetics creates new magical incense, one can feel instantaneously. When passing through the residential spaces, you will feel the sense of community and spirit that exists in the area. Formerly called Victoria Terminus, Mumbai’s main railway station is a hub of organized chaos, where millions of the city’s residents – and hundreds of confused tourists – hurry through each day. BOLLYWOOD TOUR After your walking tour of the Dharavi slums, see the glamorous side of Mumbai as you begin the tour of Bollywood. Get behind the scenes glimpse of Bollywood filmmaking. You will be taken onto a movie set to witness filming and be given exciting insight into the mechanics of the largest film industry in the world. Depending on the shoot schedule, you may even get the chance to peek inside a film star’s makeup room and pose for souvenir snapshots with some Bollywood stars of today. Next, you will step out to a dance show based on infamous routines from Bollywood films. The talented dancers will perform 5 Bollywood routines for the audience, and then you will have the opportunity to try it yourself! We will also show you VFX clip, how makers use visual effects in Bollywood movies. JUHU & CHOWPATTY BEACH Then, drive past the homes of famous Bollywood stars in exclusive area of Juhu and visit Chowpatty beach. It is a favorite evening spot for courting couples, families, and anyone out to enjoy what passes for fresh air. Watching the glorious sunsets from this beach is a sight worth seeing.
